The construction skills learning centre near the city centre, provides training in the construction trades for young people and adults. It offers on-site training with work experience on projects across the city.
The adult and community learning service provides local and accessible learning to families and adults across Leeds. Learning takes place in over two hundred different locations throughout the city offering sessions in everything from basic music, to arts and crafts, confidence building to digital photography. Learning can lead to qualifications or can be for personal and community development.
The provision for young people includes the high school programme offering 14 - 16 year olds in school the opportunity to study towards vocational qualifications and gain work experience with a local employer and for school leavers and young people aged 16 - 24, the foundation and advanced apprenticeship programme offers work based training and qualifications with employers including Leeds City Council.
They organise local Jobs Fairs and staff attend community groups to promote training and employment opportunities.
They also offer a wide range of support which includes childcare, additional language provision and assistance with travel The learning centres offer a range of work based learning, education and vocational courses to all ages.
