The Community Safety section is a team within East North East Homes Leeds dedicated to dealing with Anti-Social Behaviour by or towards our tenants or in the locality of the homes we manage. We work in partnership with West Yorkshire Police, Leeds City Council and many other appropriate agencies across the city
We are authorised to share relevant information with these agencies under the Crime & Disorder Act 1998. We adhere to the provisions of Data Protection Act and the Human Rights Act.
The Community Safety section has an Enforcement Team which deals with the more serious cases of nuisance, harassment and anti-social behaviour this team carry out investigations of complaints and incidents of anti-social behaviour and take swift and appropriate enforcement action. We also work positively to help create safe and friendly neighbourhoods. We work in close partnership with other agencies, including the police, schools and youth agencies to raise awareness amongst young people on the effects of anti-social behaviour on communities and neighbourhoods. We are also involved in putting on diversionary activities that help to keep youngsters out of trouble.
CCTV
The East North East Homes Leeds CCTV service is part of the Community Safety section. It operates a state of the art CCTV system that provides 24/7 monitored coverage of most multi storey flats, linked into mobile security patrols
The CCTV cameras have high quality digital pan, tilt and zoom facilities which give evidential quality images that are transmitted through a ‘wire free’ network to a recording and monitoring station that is staffed 24/7
More than 500 CCTV cameras are installed at flats with some providing external coverage and others providing coverage of communal areas and lifts.
Staff at the control centre are linked to the mobile security patrols and coordinate their response to incidents that are observed. The station is also linked through to the Police who respond to more serious incidents.
Security Patrols
The Community Safety section provide security patrols for multi storey flats through their contract with City Security Services. Security patrols visit flats between 2pm and 4am and also respond to calls from residents.
Drugs
East North East Homes Leeds will not tolerate anyone found to be drug dealing from our properties. We are determined to stop any form of drug dealing in and round our estates.
We will take legal action to prevent this from happening, which will include possession proceedings against tenants whose properties are being used to supply drugs from.
