Outer North East Community Champions and Groups

Groups: 

Friends Of Sandringham Park: This Group formed in February 2011. The aim is to improve relations and work with the local youths who access the nearby park.

Cranmercall: Meet regularly at Northcall active group who carry out regular walkabouts and have recently successfully applied for a grant of £50k from Community Spaces to improve Tynwald Woods.

Chestnut Grove: Hold coffee mornings and walkabouts within their community.

Deepdale: Regularly carry out walkabouts, most recently have suffered with lack of numbers, anyone interested to contact Adele Britton.

Lingfield & Fir Tree: Meet regular to address issues on the Estate.

Sandringham (Shadwell): Active group who hold regular committee meetings, carry out walkabouts, and have successfully lobbied Highways & Outer NE Area Committee to complete re-surfacing work and improvements to Grass verges.

Thorner: This group are particularly interested in the Environment, and a number of their volunteers look after flowers beds in the village. The group continue to carry out walkabouts and meet regular.

Village Voices:  

BardseyTracey Gaunt- Holds regular walkabouts.  Use the link on the right to download Bardsey News

Durrant Close – Gloria Hodkinson – Continues to maintain a very successful community Garden. Has won numerous awards for their effort, and holds 4 coffee morning per year.

Harewood – Sarah Deacon – Holds regular walkabouts, which have resulted in the Estate being painted, garage sites being re-tarmaced and was instrumental in forming Harewood in Bloom.

Community Champions

Heather Muir – Newly elected Community Champion to represent all 3 blocks

Hallfield Tenants and Residents Association – Represent the largest community in Wetherby, they carry out Walkabouts, and hold regular coffee mornings and bingo sessions.
