If you want to fit a gas cooker in your property and you live in a multioccupancy dwelling such as a flat or maisonette it MUST BE FITTED with a Flame Supervision Device (FSD) also known as Flame Safety Device for each burner. This is a legal requirement.
This device automatically cuts-off the supply of gas should the flame go out preventing a dangerous build-up of gas. The device should be fitted to all burners, not just the oven burner. Some of the older gas cookers do not have a FSD fitted so you need to check the specification of the model before you buy it if it isn’t new.
It is not possible to fit this device to your existing cooker if it was not fitted in the first place.
Gas cookers can’t be installed unless the manufacturer’s installation manual/instructions are available.
