If you or your family members or guests have caused damage to your home either intentionally or through neglect, we will tell you that you must pay the costs of repairing the damage. This includes any damage that has been caused by your pets.
In some circumstances we will tell you that you must pay the full costs of the repairs up front before any work is carried out. If you refuse to pay for rechargeable work before we do it then we may tell you that we will not do the repairs unless they are urgent.
If we need to carry out rechargeable work before you can pay us, we will set up a debt account and this will remain an outstanding debt against you until it is paid off in full.
We will always tell you whether you are responsible for paying the costs of a repair as soon as possible. If we suspect that you may have caused damage, we may send a surveyor to inspect the damage before we raise a repair order.
Sometimes it will be cheaper for you to get the repairs done yourself so it is worth checking the costs before you contact us.
Examples of where you will be recharged are:
- Changing locks if you have lost the keys.
- Repairing damage if you have forced your own way into your home after losing your keys or locking yourself out.
- Deliberate/Careless damage caused by you, your guests or household members.
- Damage caused by the Police whilst trying to arrest you your guests or household members or in order to gain entry and search your home.
