What is Safeguarding?
Safeguarding is to act as protection or a guard
Safeguarding has been implemented by Central Government as a way of protecting Children, Young People and Vulnerable Adults from abuse.
ENEHL is working in partnership with both Leeds Safeguarding Adults Partnership and Leeds Safeguarding Childrens Board to protect and promote individual human rights, the capacity for independence and improved well being so that vulnerable people stay safe, are treated with dignity and respect, enjoyed sustain quality of life, and are at all times protected from abuse, neglect, discrimination or poor treatment.

ENEHL Safeguarding Procedure
ENEHL are committed to protecting and safeguarding vulnerable people from abuse. It is not our job to establish whether or not abuse is taking place, however it is our legal and moral responsibility to report any concerns we have over the welfare of children, young people or vulnerable adults.
Our staff are trained and supported in identifying and alerting concerns or incidents of abuse.
What to do it you suspect abuse or are experiencing abuse?
There are many forms of abuse and signs of these are not always easy to see, if you would like further information, then please see our guide to spotting abuse on the right hand side of this page.
If you saw someone being attacked in the street you would call the Police, just because abuse happens behind closed doors doesn’t mean that we should ignore it. Emergency incidents should result in an immediate 999 call. If you have any concerns and would like to discuss this further you can contact any of the agencies listed below and they will be able to help.
