Promoting Social and Communal Activities
Some sheltered schemes have communal rooms. These are aimed for the use of our sheltered tenants and older people living in the wider community to promote social activities and to help dispel loneliness and isolation
We work in partnership with other services and agencies to promote social inclusion within our schemes such as WRVS luncheon clubs, Leeds Black Elders, West Indian Association, Community Links and the Feel Good Factor.
We also promote partners and agencies giving talks and demonstrations to promote health and safety and healthy living, such as west Yorkshire Fire Safety Team and Stroke Society.
Many of our Sheltered Schemes have come together and formed their own groups and networks to use their communal facilities and hold events such as bingo, craft classes and coffee mornings.
We do on occasions hire out our facilities to external providers and their is a charge to use our rooms if you would like to find out more about this please see advert and booking form on the right explaining use and charges.
If you do not live in sheltered but would like to access our groups and facilities simply view a scheme that is near to you to see what activities are available or contact Tracey Nicholson, Supported Accommodation Officer on 0800 915 1600
